What Sūrat at-Tīn is about

Sūrat at-Tīn has 8 āyāt in the thirtieth juzʼ. It is named after the fig. It opens with oaths by the fig and the olive, by Mount Sinai, and by this secure city (95:1–3).

The oaths lead to its message: Allah created the human in the finest form, then brought him down to the lowest of the low, except those who believe and do good, whose reward never ends (95:4–6). It closes by asking whether Allah is not the most just of judges (95:8).

  1. Āyāt 1–3

By the fig and the olive

The sūrah swears by the fig and the olive, by Mount Sinai, and by this secure city.

  2. Āyāt 4–8

    The finest form

Allah created the human in the finest form, then returned him to the lowest of the low, except those who believe and do good, who have a reward that never ends. What then makes you deny the Judgement? Is Allah not the most just of judges (95:8)?
