Data rights & account deletion

If you can open the app, use:

Settings → Privacy & data → Manage data → Delete account

Confirming this action sends an authenticated deletion request to Qiraa, removes the account and associated server-side account data, signs the app out, clears local learning progress, and deletes local review recordings managed by Qiraa. The action cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first.

If you cannot access the app, email us from the address associated with the Qiraa account. Use the subject “Delete my Qiraa account” and include the account email and, if relevant, the name of the household owner. Do not send your password or identity document in the first message.

We will use proportionate steps to verify that the requester controls the account or is an authorized parent, guardian, or agent. We normally complete a verified request within 30 days, unless applicable law allows additional time or a limited record must be preserved.

Deletion is intended to remove:

• the Qiraa account profile and sign-in link held by Qiraa;
• Qiraa sessions and server-side account activity;
• synchronized learning stores and cloud progress linked to the account;
• entitlements, family-group membership, invitations, and account-linked usage records, subject to necessary transaction records;
• learner-scoped AI consent grants and account-linked operational records where deletion is required; and
• local Qiraa progress and local recordings when deletion is performed in the app.

Qiraa may retain a narrowly limited record if required for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, or another legal obligation. De-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you is not account data.

Deleting the Qiraa account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Cancel the subscription in the store’s subscription settings. The store controls its independent purchase and payment records.

If you request deletion by email rather than in the app, data stored only on your device cannot be erased remotely. Delete Qiraa’s local data through the app or operating-system storage controls and remove the app if desired.

Device backups, contributed recordings already irreversibly de-identified, and information incorporated into a trained model in a manner that cannot reasonably be linked back or extracted may not be removable from the account-deletion process.

A verified parent or guardian may request access to or deletion of a child learner’s information. Tell us that the request concerns a child and identify the relevant household and learner without sending unnecessary sensitive material.

Deleting one local learner profile, leaving a family group, deleting the family owner’s account, and deleting every member account have different effects. We will clarify the requested scope before acting where it is not clear.

You may also ask to:

• access or receive a copy of personal data;
• correct account information;
• understand categories, purposes, sources, and recipients;
• withdraw an optional consent or object to eligible processing;
• restrict processing where applicable; or
• appeal a privacy-request decision where local law provides that right.

State the request, account email, country or region, and relevant learner. We may need to verify identity. Legal exceptions can apply, and we will explain a material refusal when required.

Local review recordings can be deleted from Qiraa’s data controls. You can choose a 30-day, 90-day, or no-automatic-deletion retention period and can remove recordings sooner.

Turning off server recitation or cloud scoring stops future optional requests. Turning off contribution stops future model-improvement uploads. For a previously contributed clip, contact us with the approximate date, learner/account context, surah and ayah, and device/app information you can safely provide so we can try to identify it. Do not attach the recording by ordinary email unless asked to use a secure method.
