What Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ is about

Sūrat al-Ikhlāṣ has 4 āyāt in the thirtieth juzʼ. Its name means sincerity, or making faith pure; the word itself does not appear in the sūrah. It opens with a command to say: He is Allah, One (112:1).

In four short āyāt it describes Allah: He is One; He is aṣ-Ṣamad, the One all creation turns to in need (112:2); He neither begets nor was born (112:3); and there is none equal to Him (112:4).

  1. Āyāt 1–4

    He is Allah, One

Say: He is Allah, One. Allah is aṣ-Ṣamad, the One all turn to in need. He neither begets nor was He begotten, and there is none equal to Him.
